ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have signed Anthony Chickillo from the Saints' practice squad to their 53-man roster, the team announced Friday.
The move should add depth to the Broncos' outside linebacking corps, which now features Chickillo, Bradley Chubb, Jeremiah Attaochu and Malik Reed. Outside linebackers Derrek Tuszka and Isaiah Irving are currently on Denver's practice squad.
Chickillo, a sixth-year player, has appeared in 65 career games, tallying 97 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles. He spent the first five years of his career in Pittsburgh before signing with the Saints this offseason. New Orleans released him when they trimmed their roster to 53 players earlier this month, and then re-signed him to their practice squad.
Chickillo's best season came in 2017, when he posted 19 tackles, three sacks and three quarterback hits. In 2019, he appeared in 11 games and recorded 19 tackles and half a sack.
The Broncos had an open active roster spot after placing CB A.J. Bouye on injured reserve on Wednesday.
