ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added a new face to their quarterback room.
On Wednesday, the team announced that it has signed fourth-year quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
The former Texas Longhorn spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Colts, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Ehlinger received his most significant playing time in 2022, when he appeared in four games, including three starts. He completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 573 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.
At Texas, Ehlinger threw for 11,436 yards, 94 touchdowns and 27 interceptions and was selected as a second-team All-Big 12 selection in 2020.
Ehlinger joins a quarterback room that is led by second-year starter Bo Nix and seventh-year veteran Jarrett Stidham. In 2024, the Broncos carried three quarterbacks on their 53-man active roster, with Nix, Stidham and Zach Wilson, who signed with the Dolphins in March in free agency.
