ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added a productive pass-catcher to their tight end group.
Denver signed free agent tight end Evan Engram to a two-year contract, the team announced Thursday.
The two-time Pro Bowler has caught 496 career passes for 4,922 yards and 25 touchdowns during his eight-year career.
In 2023, which marked his last full season, Engram earned a Pro Bowl nod as he caught a career-high 114 passes for 963 yards and four scores. A year ago, despite playing nine games, Engram caught another 47 passes for 365 yards and a touchdown.
The 23rd-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Engram spent the first five seasons of his career with the Giants. He earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2020 as he caught 63 passes for 654 yards and a score for New York.
Engram spent the past three seasons in Jacksonville, where he averaged more than five catches and seven targets per game.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound player's 17-game average of 78 catches and 775 yards would represent the most yards in a season by a Broncos tight end since Julius Thomas in 2013 and the most catches by a Broncos tight end in a season since Shannon Sharpe in 1996.
According to NFL.com, Engram was the top available tight end on this year's free-agent market.
