ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — A key piece in the middle of the Broncos' defensive line is staying in Denver.

The Broncos re-signed defensive tackle D.J. Jones to a three-year contract on Tuesday, the team announced.

Jones has played the past three seasons in Denver and started all 48 of the games in which he has appeared. The 6-foot, 305-pound player appeared in all 17 games in 2024 and has missed just three games in his tenure with the Broncos.

Prior to signing with the Broncos ahead of the 2022 season, Jones played five years with the 49ers and appeared in 61 games.

Over the past three seasons, Jones has recorded five sacks, 122 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 11 quarterback hits to accompany three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and nine passes defensed.

With Jones in the middle of the defense, the Broncos allowed the second fewest yards per carry (3.9) and rushing first downs (82) in 2024.

A sixth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Jones has tallied 248 tackles, 12 sacks, 32 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in his NFL career.
