WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — The Broncos have added a pair of veteran defenders to their practice squad.

Denver signed inside linebackers Zach Cunningham and Kwon Alexander to the practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.

A 2017 second-round pick, Cunningham has started 86 career games and recorded 705 tackles, 6.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, 23 passes defensed and an interception.

The Vanderbilt product appeared in 13 games and started 10 contests for Philadelphia in 2023. Cunningham recorded 85 tackles, two tackles for loss, a quarterback hit and four passes defensed during that span.

Alexander is a 10th-year linebacker who last played nine games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023. Initially drafted by the Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Alexander spent the first four years of his career in Tampa and earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2017. He has also spent time playing for the 49ers, Saints — where he played for now-Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton in 2020 — and the Jets.

In 2023, Alexander appeared in nine games — starting two — and posted 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, a sack, a forced fumble and an interception.

Earlier Wednesday, the Broncos announced they were placing inside linebacker Alex Singleton on injured reserve and promoting running back Tyler Badie to the active roster.
