ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — PS2 is here to stay.
The Broncos officially signed standout cornerback Pat Surtain II to a four-year contract extension on Wednesday, the team announced.
A two-time Pro Bowler and 2022 Associated Press first-team All-Pro, Surtain has developed a reputation as perhaps the best cornerback in the NFL.
Surtain has also earned a pair of NFLPA first-team All-Pro selections and was voted the Broncos' 2023 Demaryius Thomas Team MVP Award winner by the Denver Chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.
The Alabama product has started 49 of 50 games in which he has appeared during his three-year career, and he has played in all but one game since being drafted.
Selected with the ninth-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Surtain tallied four interceptions as a rookie and posted 14 passes defensed. He has added another three interceptions and 22 passes defensed over the past two seasons.
In 2023, Surtain became the first Bronco since at least 1999 to tally double-digit passes defensed in each of his first three seasons.
Surtain is the second player the Broncos have extended from the 2021 draft class, as Denver signed guard Quinn Meinerz to a four-year extension in July.
