ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Ahead of Monday's game against the Browns, the Broncos have added a veteran defender to their active roster.
Denver promoted inside linebacker Zach Cunningham from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Wednesday.
Cunningham was elevated from the practice squad for each of the Broncos' last three games and appeared in two of those contests.
He has played 10 percent of the defensive snaps and 13 percent of the special teams snaps in the two games in which he appeared.
The eighth-year player has started 86 games in his career and has recorded 708 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles and an interception.
The Broncos had an open spot on their 53-man roster and were not required to make a corresponding move.
