ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added a veteran back to their active roster.

Denver promoted fullback Mike Burton from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Wednesday.

The Broncos had an open spot on their 53-man roster and were not required to make a corresponding move.

Denver also designated wide receiver Josh Reynolds for return from injured reserve.

Burton spent the past two weeks on the Broncos' practice squad and was elevated for Week 9 and Week 10 games. He has appeared in all 10 games for the Broncos this season. Burton had been elevated the maximum number of allowed times, which required him returning to the active roster in order to continue to play.

The veteran fullback has played 16 percent of Denver's offensive snaps and 67 percent of special teams play.

Reynolds, meanwhile, returned to the practice field for the first time since suffering a finger injury against the Raiders in Week 5. He participated in the media-viewing portion of practice and is eligible to play in Week 11 if he is activated before Sunday's game.

The Broncos must activate Reynolds within 21 days or he will revert to injured reserve for the remainder of the season.

Denver has now designated six players for return from IR in 2024. Each team is permitted to designate eight players for return during the regular season.

The eighth-year receiver caught 12 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown in the first five weeks of the season.
