ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver has added a pair of practice-squad players to its game-day roster.
The Broncos elevated inside linebacker Kwon Alexander and guard Calvin Throckmorton from the practice squad to active roster, the team announced Saturday.
Alexander made his Broncos debut in Week 7 as he started at inside linebacker alongside Cody Barton. Alexander played 30 percent of Denver's defensive snaps in the Broncos' win over the Saints. Alexander recovered a fumble early in Denver's victory to help set up a score.
A former Pro Bowler, Alexander signed to the Broncos' practice squad ahead of Week 4. He has started 89 games in his career and recorded nine interceptions, 12 forced fumbles, 34 passes defensed, 13.5 sacks, 632 tackles and 54 tackles for loss.
Throckmorton, a fourth-year veteran, was also elevated for Denver's last two games. He played nine total snaps in the Broncos' Week 7 win.
Players can be elevated a total of three times to from the practice squad to the active roster, meaning Throckmorton has reached the limit of games for which he can be elevated.
Denver is slated to face the Panthers at 2:25 p.m. MT on Sunday.
