ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have activated wide receiver Diontae Spencer from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Thursday.

Spencer's return to the active roster means he is eligible to play this weekend against the Panthers.

The second-year player, who also serves as the team's return specialist, was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Nov. 27.

The Reserve/COVID-19 list is intended for players who have tested positive for the virus or who have been in close contact with an infected individual. The Broncos are not permitted to disclose which category applies to a player.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel is the only player who remains on the team's Reserve/COVID-19 list. Darius Kilgo is on the Broncos' Practice Squad Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Denver also designated tight end Jake Butt for return from injured reserve and began his 21-day practice window. The Broncos must activate Butt to their active roster by Dec. 31 or else he will remain on IR for remainder of the season.
