'I still got it': WR Emmanuel Sanders 'feeling good,' not placing timetable on return

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — A few days after running at full speed, Emmanuel Sanders declined to put a timetable on his return from an Achilles injury.

"We'll see," Sanders said Tuesday when asked if he expected to return in time for the start of training camp. "You know how the trainers are. We're not going to put a date on anything. We're just going to take it one day at a time. Hopefully I'm back out there by then, but if I'm not, I'm not going to rush it. I'm going to take my time and make sure I'm 100 percent by the time I get on the field."

Sanders, who suffered the injury on Dec. 5 during practice, said he's "still sore every now and then" but has generally "been feeling good."

"I'm happy to get back out there," he said.

Sanders said he started to work with trainers on his lateral movement on Tuesday, but it was his straight-line speed that gave him a sense of relief.

"Once they told me I hit 19.2 [miles per hour] and it's only four months in, I was like, 'All right, I still got it,'" Sanders said.

Sanders emphasized Tuesday, though, that he's focused more on his rehab than any potential return date.

"Right now I'm just enjoying the process," Sanders said. "I'm taking it one day at a time and [seeing] how it goes. I feel like when I do run full speed, I feel good. … I wouldn't say we're ahead of schedule, I wouldn't say we're behind schedule. I just feel like we're somewhere in between there.

"So we'll see how it goes and see once I start running routes."
