ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have added a rookie running back to their active roster.
Denver promoted running back Blake Watson from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Tuesday.
The Broncos waived cornerback Levi Wallace in a corresponding move.
Denver also designated running back Tyler Badie for return from injured reserve.
Watson, an undrafted rookie from Memphis, has appeared in two games this season and received the first carries of his career against the Chargers. Watson carried the ball four times for 10 yards and also caught a pass for 13 yards vs. Los Angeles.
Wallace appeared in 13 games for the Broncos this season but was not active for Denver's last two games.
Badie participated in the media-viewing portion of Tuesday's practice and started the 21-day window in which he must be activated to play in 2024. Badie is eligible to play as soon as Week 17 in Cincinnati if he is activated to the 53-player roster ahead of Saturday's game.
The Missouri product has not played since suffering an injury in Denver's Week 4 win over the New York Jets. Badie carried the ball nine times for 70 yards in Denver's Week 3 win over Tampa Bay.
