ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —Outside linebacker Von Miller and cornerback Aqib Talib were selected to represent the Broncos in the 2018 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced Tuesday.
Cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and nose tackle Domata Peko Sr. were both selected as alternates at their positions.
Miller has now been selected for six Pro Bowls in his first seven seasons as a pro. Only Ring of Famer Steve Atwater and former cornerback Champ Bailey have as many Pro Bowl selections in their first seven seasons as Broncos as Miller. He is one of just eight players in franchise history with at least six Pro Bowl selections, and he has the most among active members of the team. Miller in 2017 also became the first Broncos player to record at least six 10-sack seasons. The Super Bowl 50 MVP was the leading vote recipient among outside linebackers in the AFC and will start the game for the conference.
Talib records his fifth-career Pro Bowl selection and his fourth with the Broncos. He has started 13 games in 2017, and the highlight of his season came in Week 2 when he returned a Dak Prescott pass 103 yards for a touchdown. Talib joins Bailey and safety John Lynch as the only players to make the Pro Bowl in each of their first four seasons with the Broncos.
Should Harris move onto the roster, he would earn his fourth selection in four years. The former undrafted player out of Kansas was also a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2016. Harris has recorded two interceptions and seven passes defensed through 14 games, and he also forced a fumble.
Peko, in his 12th season in the NFL, would garner his first Pro Bowl appearance. The 33-year-old nose tackle helped rejuvenate the Broncos' run defense, which improved upon its 2016 output to rank No. 1 in the league in yards allowed per carry in 2017. The 6-foot-3, 307-pound player has started 11 games and constantly taken on double teams to help Denver's interior effort.
The 2018 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, Jan. 28, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The AFC captured a 20-13 victory over the NFC in 2017, as Aqib Talib caught a lateral following a Lorenzo Alexander interception and returned it 66 yards to seal the game.
