HC Sean Payton announces 2024 season captains as chosen by Broncos players

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos officially have their 2024 team captains.

Wide receiver Courtland Sutton, guard Quinn Meinerz, quarterback Bo Nix, cornerback Pat Surtain II, inside linebacker Alex Singleton and kicker Wil Lutz were chosen as captains by their teammates, Head Coach Sean Payton announced Wednesday.

Five of the six players — Meinerz, Nix, Surtain, Singleton and Lutz — are first-time captains in Denver. Sutton is a captain for the fourth consecutive season.

Nix is the Broncos' first rookie season captain since Hall of Famer Floyd Little earned the honor in 1967.

The Broncos will open their season on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
