The Broncos will take on the Raiders at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2:25 p.m. MT.

MATCHUP

To earn a win over the Raiders, the Broncos will have to contain an explosive offense that features the ever-efficient quarterback Derek Carr. Carr's ability to get passes out quickly to receivers like Henry Ruggs III and Hunter Renfrow and tight end Darren Waller has allowed Las Vegas' offense to move the chains consistently, along with a rushing attack led by Josh Jacobs. Denver's defense struggled to contain the run in Pittsburgh, so there will probably be an emphasis on shoring that up as a replenished secondary that returns cornerback Ronald Darby works to limit Carr's effectiveness.

Meanwhile, Denver's offense will look to continue its success from the fourth quarter against the Steelers. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Co. have struggled to start games with scoring drives, but they'll hope to end those woes against Las Vegas. The Raiders' passing defense has fared well through five weeks, but Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and Noah Fant should give them a good test as Denver hopes to exploit Vegas' run defense, which currently ranks 27th in yards allowed per carry.

INJURY UPDATE

The Broncos ruled out only cornerback Mike Ford (knee) ahead of Sunday's game, but his absence could be a significant one, as Ford has emerged as a key special-teams player. Running back Melvin Gordon III (hip), safety Kareem Jackson (back) and outside linebacker Aaron Patrick (ankle) were also listed as questionable.

Las Vegas listed just two players with game statuses on their lengthy injury report; defensive tackles Johnathan Hankins (hip) and Quinton Jefferson are doubtful and questionable, respectively. Hankins, a starter, did not practice the entire week.
