The Broncos will host the Indianapolis Colts at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024 at 2:25 p.m. MT.

MATCHUP

After a Week 14 bye, the Broncos will return to action on Sunday as they host the Indianapolis Colts in a game with massive playoff implications. Denver currently holds two more wins than the Colts, though the head-to-head tiebreak could become a factor in the final weeks of the season.

The Broncos will look to extend their three-game win streak after scoring a season-high 41 points in Week 13 vs. Cleveland. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix — who leads all rookie quarterbacks across the league with 17 passing touchdowns and an average of 218.6 passing yards per game — should look for another strong performance on Sunday. Nix could look to playmakers such as veteran wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who leads the Broncos with 63 receptions, 864 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. Sutton has recorded 70-plus receiving yards in each of his last six games — the longest such streak of his career — and he could look to extend this in Week 15.

Defensively, the Broncos will aim to return to form after allowing a season-high in total yards in their Week 13 victory. Denver will look to pressure quarterback Anthony Richardson, who has led the Colts to five of the team's six wins as the starter this season. Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, whose 11 sacks are tied for the second-most in the NFL, could look to be a key contributor on Sunday. Defensive lineman Zach Allen, who is tied for the second most quarterback hits across the league this season (25), could also aim to play a role in this effort. Denver currently leads the league in sacks (47) and the unit is tied for the most defensive touchdowns (4) this season. The Broncos also have five players who have recorded five-plus sacks in 2024, while no other team in the league has more than three such players. Cornerback Pat Surtain II, who has the highest PFF grade (84.3) among all cornerbacks, could also look for another strong performance in the Week 15 matchup.

Denver will seek to continue both its strong offensive and defensive play as the team looks to earn its ninth win, which would represent the Broncos' first winning season since 2016.

INJURY UPDATE

Denver ruled out cornerback Riley Moss (knee). Safety Brandon Jones (abdomen) and cornerback Tremon Smith (not injury related – personal) were not assigned game statuses, indicating they will be available to play in Sunday's matchup.

For Indianapolis, wide receiver Ashton Dulin (ankle) and offensive tackle Braden Smith (not injury related – personal) were ruled out. Linebacker Jaylon Carlies (fibula, shoulder) wide receiver Josh Downs (shoulder), center Ryan Kelly (knee) and tight end Mo Alie-Cox (hip) were listed as questionable.
