The Broncos will host the Carolina Panthers at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024 at 2:25 p.m. MT.
MATCHUP
The Broncos return home for a matchup with the Carolina Panthers in Week 8. Denver will look for its fifth win in six weeks as the team aims to secure its second home victory of the season.
Denver posted its best rushing performance since 2013 in Week 7, led by running back Javonte Williams and rookie quarterback Bo Nix. With 75 yards on the ground, Nix had the best rushing game of his career and could look to use his legs to make plays again this weekend. Williams could also aim for another strong performance after recording the first game of his career with multiple rushing touchdowns against the Saints. Running backs Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime, who also contributed last week, should aim to get involved in the ground game again in Week 8.
Denver's defense had another strong performance in Week 7, holding the Saints to just three points until the final minutes of Thursday's win. Heading into Week 8, Denver ranks second in total sacks (28) and third in total yards allowed per game (282.4), and the unit should look to continue building positive momentum on Sunday. The Broncos will aim to pressure quarterback Bryce Young in the matchup. Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto, who recorded a sack in his fifth consecutive game in Week 7 and now leads the team in sacks (5), could aim to extend his streak on Sunday.
