ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — One of the Broncos' all-time sack leaders has received a statewide honor.

Ring of Fame defender Simon Fletcher has been elected to the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame's Class of 2025, the organization announced Wednesday. The selection committee voted to elect six new members, with the induction ceremony scheduled to take place in April.

Fletcher played all 11 seasons of his NFL career with the Broncos after being selected with the 54th-overall pick in the 1985 NFL Draft. He recorded 97.5 sacks during his career, posting five consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks and leading the team in sacks for seven consecutive seasons. In 1995, Fletcher retired as Denver's all-time sack leader. He now ranks second in franchise history, behind only former Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller.

A 2016 Broncos Ring of Fame selection, Fletcher never missed a game during his NFL career, starting the final 140 of the 172 total consecutive games in which he appeared. He was a member of Denver's AFC Championship-winning teams in 1986, 1987 and 1989, and he appeared in three Super Bowls with the team.

In addition to his record-setting number of sacks, Fletcher finished his career with 851 career tackles (530 solo), two interceptions, 21 forced fumbles and 10 fumble recoveries.

Fletcher will join a number of former Broncos in the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, including defensive end Barney Chavous, who was the Broncos' most recent inductee.

Joining Fletcher in the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame six-person Class of 2025 are Mikaela Shiffrin, winner of 98 Alpine skiing World Cup victories; Troy Tulowitzki, former Colorado Rockies player and five-time MLB All-Star shortstop; Larry Brown, former five-year coach of the Denver Nuggets; Theodore "Bubbles" Anderson, the only Denver-born player to compete in the Negro Leagues; and Lisa Van Goor, a former basketball standout and NCAA Player of the Year finalist for the University of Colorado.
