Denver Broncos | News

Broncos, Briefly: Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019

Is the secondary, despite a rash of injuries, a strength of this team? Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, coming in hungry after consecutive losses, are about to answer that question.

It took a month, but the Broncos' defense finally looks like what we thought it would under Vic Fangio. Denver shut out the Titans on Sunday and haven't allowed a touchdown in nine quarters, dating back to the third quarter of the Broncos' Week 4 loss to Jacksonville.

For the past four decades or so, Vic Fangio and Andy Reid have coached football and for most of those years the two have worked in the NFL.

All told, they have combined for 11 stops in the league and yet the two have never worked together on the same coaching staff.

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was listed as a full participant on the Broncos' estimated injury report that was released Tuesday.

The Broncos held just a walkthrough, but Sanders' status was upgraded after he was listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report.

"We've got to be solid with the run game for sure because if they get started running the ball and they're running all over the place, it's going to be impossible to win that game," Von Miller stated without hesitation on Tuesday, putting out a blueprint for Denver on Thursday night.
