DENVER — Rookie wide receiver Troy Franklin is officially active for the first time in his young career.
A week after being inactive against the Seahawks, Franklin is poised to make his Broncos debut against the Steelers.
Franklin is among the Broncos' options at wide receiver, as fellow rookie Devaughn Vele was ruled out Friday with a ribs injury. Vele led the team in receptions in Week 1.
Both players the Broncos elevated for the matchup — wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey and running back Tyler Badie — are also active.
Six of the Broncos' seven inactive players are the same as Week 1, as quarterback Zach Wilson, running back Blake Watson, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, tackle Frank Crum, tight end Lucas Krull and defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike are again inactive.
Wilson will serve as the team's emergency quarterback, which means he is permitted to dress and enter the game if both of the Broncos' active quarterbacks suffer injuries.
