ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper has been named the 2024 Darrent Williams Good Guy Award winner, as voted on by the Pro Football Writers of America Denver chapter.
The Good Guy Award, created in memory of late Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams, is given annually to a player who exemplifies Williams' enthusiasm, honesty and cooperation while working with the media.
Cooper is the 15th different Broncos player to win the award since it was created in 2007. The fourth-year player is the first defensive player to be chosen as the recipient since 2020, and he is the first linebacker to be chosen since 2016.
"Cooper was the winner in a close vote as he was consistently named for his reliability, his candor and his willingness to provide insight without hesitation," said ESPN Senior Writer and former national president of the PFWA Jeff Legwold.
Cornerback Pat Surtain II, defensive lineman Zach Allen and right tackle and 2023 recipient Mike McGlinchey were among the other players to receive significant consideration for the award.
