The Lead
A Broncos defender has earned a significant accolade at his alma mater.
Inside linebacker and team captain Alex Singleton has been elected to the Montana State Bobcat Athletics Hall of Fame, the school announced Thursday.
This year's induction class — which includes seven other former athletes and coaches and features one of Singleton's former teammates — will be honored on Friday, Feb. 21. Singleton is unable to attend this year's ceremony and will be honored next year.
At Montana State, Singleton was a member of two Big Sky title teams. He earned third-team All-America honors and first-team All-Big Sky honors in 2014, and he finished his college career in the school's top 10 in both career and single-season tackles.
A sixth-year player in the NFL, Singleton arrived in Denver in 2022 and led the team in tackles in both 2022 and 2023. The team captain averaged more than 10 tackles per game to start his 2024 campaign, but he suffered an ACL injury during Week 3 that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Singleton recently noted that his recovery is "coming along really well."
