LOS ANGELES — The Broncos have added a pair of players to their game-day roster for a "Thursday Night Football" matchup with the Chargers.
Denver elevated defensive end Matt Henningsen and running back Blake Watson from the practice squad to the active roster for Thursday's game in Los Angeles, the team announced.
Henningsen has yet to appear in a game for the Broncos this season, but he played 34 games between 2022-23 after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He played 20 percent of Denver's defensive snaps in each of those two seasons, while also playing nearly 40 percent of the team's special teams snaps. He has recorded 40 tackles, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, a sack and two passes defensed in his career.
Watson, an undrafted rookie from Memphis, was active for the Broncos' Week 5 win over the Raiders and played a pair of snaps. He has yet to receive a carry in his young NFL career. Watson, who made the Broncos' initial active roster, ran for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 6.0 yards per carry in his final collegiate season.
Denver's elevation of Watson comes after ruling out running back Jaleel McLaughlin on Wednesday.
The Broncos are slated to face the Chargers at 6:15 p.m. MT at SoFi Stadium.
