ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos continue to adjust their 53-man roster ahead of Week 1.
Denver signed inside linebacker Kristian Welch, the team announced Thursday.
The Broncos waived rookie inside linebacker Levelle Bailey in a corresponding move.
A 6-foot-3, 240-pound player, Welch has appeared in 57 games during his four-year career. After spending 2020-22 with Baltimore, Welch played 14 games for the Packers in 2023.
The Iowa product has tallied 27 career tackles.
During his career, Welch has played at least 60 percent of the special teams snaps across games in which he has appeared. In 2021, he played a career-high 382 special teams snaps for Baltimore.
In the 2024 preseason, Welch led the Packers with 16 tackles and tied for the NFL lead with two interceptions. He also recovered a fumble, recorded a tackle for loss and notched three passes defensed.
The Broncos got an up-close look at Welch during the preseason, as he posted six tackles, one tackle for loss, an interception and a pass defense against Denver in the teams' preseason meeting.
