ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –The Broncos used the 203rd-overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft to snag running back De'Angelo Henderson out of Coastal Carolina.
The sixth-round pick will join C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker and Juwan Thompson in the Broncos' running backs room.
At 5-foot-7, 208 pounds, Henderson is a compact back with a quick burst. He set several NCAA rushing marks at Coastal Carolina and scored in 35 straight games, which barely missed Danny Woodhead's NCAA record.
Though he set a career high in rushing yards per game with 128.4 yards, he fell short of his 2015 output in which he was named Big South Offensive Player of the Year and a third-team Associated Press All-American. That year, he finished with 1,346 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Henderson recorded a 4.48-second 40-yard dash at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine.
