ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos added to the competition at tackle on Sunday, as they were awarded rookie lineman Darrin Paulo off waivers from New Orleans.
Paulo had been with the Saints since April, when he signed as an undrafted free agent. He was waived by New Orleans on Aug. 29.
The young tackle was a college standout at the University of Utah, where he was a four-year starter. He appeared in 53 games, including 41 starts, and earned Pac-12 All-Conference first-team honors in his senior season.
Paulo started at both tackle positions during his time at Utah; he started 26 games at right tackle during his sophomore and junior seasons before moving to left tackle for his senior season.
He also earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors three times, including one second-team and two honorable-mention selections.
