ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos made a change to the depth in their defensive backfield Wednesday, as they waived veteran cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and claimed cornerback Cyrus Jones off waivers from Baltimore.
Jones, a fourth-year player, previously played for the Ravens and Patriots after New England selected him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his 31 career games, Jones has started twice and recorded 17 total tackles and two fumble recoveries.
In addition to his role on defense, Jones has also served as a capable return specialist. Since joining the Ravens in 2018, Jones has returned 30 punts for 372 yards, an average of 12.4 yards per return. His 70-yard return for a touchdown against the Raiders in Week 12 of the 2018 season earned him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
