ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett signed his restricted free agent tender Monday to remain with the Broncos for the 2018 season.
The Broncos placed a second-round tender on Barrett on March 13, which guaranteed the Broncos would not have been left without compensation if another team signed him.
If another team had extended an offer to Barrett and the Broncos' chose not to match, Denver would have received a second-round pick.
Barrett, a former undrafted free agent from Colorado State, has been a key reserve player for the Broncos.
He started nine games in Shane Ray's absence in 2017 and totaled two forced fumbles and four sacks.
Exclusive rights free agent Jerrol Garcia-Williams also signed the tender the Broncos extended to him on Monday.
