Jones has already received high praise from Head Coach Vic Fangio for his performance, as the rookie received a game ball during Fangio's victory speech in the locker room.
"He had a pretty good sprained ankle and a lot of guys wouldn't had played yesterday with what he had, but he wanted to play," Fangio said Monday. "I think that's a good indication of who he is as a guyand he got rewarded with a couple of sacks. Those are the kind of guys you want on your team."
Jones now has three sacks, 13 total tackles, five quarterback hits, two passes defensed and one interception on the season.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, Eagles running back Miles Sanders, Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow and Titans linebacker Derick Roberson are also nominated for this week's award.
He is the second Bronco to be nominated for the award this season. Quarterback Drew Lock won Rookie of the Week after his 309-yard, three-touchdown game against the Texans in Week 14.
If Jones does win, he would be just the third Broncos defensive player to win the award since the award began in 2002, joining former Broncos CB Domonique Foxworth (Week 4, 2005) and LB/FB Spencer Larsen (Week 11, 2008).
