The Broncos will travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sept. 8, 2024 at 2:05 p.m. MT.

MATCHUP

Head Coach Sean Payton will open up his second season in Denver as the Broncos travel to Seattle for their regular-season opener against the Seahawks. Denver will look to start the season strong with several veteran players and newcomers expected to see action.

Rookie quarterback Bo Nix is slotted to make his first NFL regular-season start after a promising preseason performance in which he completed 23-of-30 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns across two games. The first-round draft pick will become just the second Broncos rookie to start at quarterback in Week 1, joining John Elway in 1983.

Nix will have the support of a strong offensive line that features right tackle Mike McGlinchey and guard Quinn Meinerz among the options. Nix could look to veteran playmakers such as wide receivers Courtland Sutton and Denver newcomer Josh Reynolds, while tight end Greg Dulcich could also be a factor in Denver's pass game.

Jaleel McLaughlin will begin his second season in Denver, and he should look to build off of last year's momentum alongside Javonte Williams. Rookie running back Audric Estime could also look to make an early impact for Denver.

Defensively, the Broncos will aim to get off to a quick start behind the leadership of a revitalized defensive line. Defensive end Zach Allen, who will begin his second season with the Broncos, will team up with Denver newcomers John Franklin-Myers and Malcolm Roach.

In the secondary, cornerback Pat Surtain II should look to return to dominance while newcomer Brandon Jones could look to get off to a strong start for Denver.

INJURY UPDATE

The Broncos did not list any players with injury designations for Week 1, which indicates everyone on the active roster will be available to play. Seattle ruled out tight end Pharaoh Brown and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, while wide receiver Tyler Lockett was listed as questionable.
