Woodyard's World: Week 5

Editor's note: Linebacker , who was voted as a team captain for the fifth-consecutive season this year, will contribute blog entries thoughout the 2013 season. See below for his latest entry about about this week's game at Dallas and his reality TV debut.

Well, it's Friday and we're starting to get our bags packed for tomorrow's trip to Dallas.

The Cowboys are a good team, a tough team to go against. They are are always a team to look out for. They have a good running attack and a good passing attack. Overall, they are a balanced team, whether they are going to pass it or run the ball.

We definitely have to stop Witten and our DBs definitely have to know where No. 88, Dez Bryant, is. Those are pretty much the keys in the passing game – and then if Miles Austin is going, we have to be tough on him, too.

On the running side, it's another week and another one of the league's top running backs that we'll be trying to limit. That is a challenge, but it's always a challenge that we welcome as a front seven. Those guys don't like going into games where they aren't going to get a lot of rushing attempts. It's going to be a challenge that we welcome and it doesn't matter which running back they put back there. They are all capable runners. We're excited and we want to go out there and shut them down.

To me, I love that whole atmosphere that stadium presents. That's what it's all about to me. If you're a player, you want everything to be built up around football at that time. Whether that's walking through the tunnel and you see the glass with everybody banging on it or you look up and see that giant screen or you look farther and see the go-go dancers up there – to me it is exciting. That's what I love about football. All that anticipation and build up from the crowd. They have a great stadium and I'm looking forward to playing there this week.

I know that since they moved the Oakland-San Diego game to later at night, our game is going to be broadcast to nearly the entire country. It's going to be exciting to be back out there in a primetime situation, kind of like our Thursday night and Monday night games earlier this year. We're ready. We like the bright lights.

Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games.

It's funny, we practiced in snow today and then we're traveling to Dallas tomorrow where it will be warm. I like the snow though. I've never had a snow game. I have a feeling we're going to get at least one this year. I wish the snow would have been coming down hard today like the rain we had during practice a few weeks ago. I like this snow, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting a chance at the real stuff.

Moving to off-the-field talk, how many of you watched the debut of the Deckers' reality show on E!? Did you see me on there?

It was cool though. My wife liked seeing me on there, at least – she smiled.

I think the thing about it is that Eric and Jessie, they're really in love. A lot of people can say things and say bad things, but to me, I think it's a positive for their relationship. They both match each other well. Eric is a cool, calm guy and you never know what you're going to get with Jessie. They go well together and the most important thing is that they believe in God and they are in love with each other and you can never take that away from them.

Now, I'm kind of known as a jokester in the locker room sometimes, so I'm a little suspicious that Eric had me on there so I couldn't make fun of him at all.

And now I've been getting some of the jokes. It's cool though. Eric is a great guy so I was happy to be a part of it.
