JERSEY CITY, N.J. –Champ Bailey has been playing cornerback in the NFL for 15 years but this Sunday will be his first time playing in the Super Bowl and that fact has certainly not been lost on his teammates.

Broncos on both sides of the ball have said that winning a championship for Bailey would mean a lot. Head Coach John Fox said Friday at his joint press conference with Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll that players not only want to win for veterans like Bailey and quarterback Peyton Manning, but because they don't want to disappoint their teammates.

"You can't do it by yourself as a coach, as a head coach, as an assistant coach," Fox said. "It takes leadership in that locker room. I think those guys for our team raise all boats. People don't want to let –not just the coach down, or the city, or the organization down – they don't want to let their teammates down."

Fox added that he appreciates Manning and Bailey and the other veterans in the locker room for the leadership they provide.

On the other side, the Seahawks don't have the same type of makeup. The Broncos have seven players who have played at least ten seasons while the Seahawks have just one player – defensive end Chris Clemons – that has played ten seasons.

"In contrast, somewhat, we have a very young team, and we have a bunch of guys that are growing up together as a team," Carroll said. "It comes together to try to do something special, rallying around the brotherhood of it all."

Regardless of the motivation of each team or the dynamic created by veteran leadership or the lack thereof, the game Sunday will be decided by the action on the field, not in the locker room.

"Like John said, we coach them up, but on game day, it's their day," Carroll said. "We live to watch them do what they can do, and it's exciting to see them come together with these opportunities and try to max out this chance for them. It's pretty exciting and it's interesting to see how different we can be in the makeups of our team."
