KANSAS CITY, Mo. —** As the Broncos' two-game slide turned into a three-game skid, Trevor Siemian looked at the 29-19 loss and shouldered much of the blame.

"This week the defense played well enough to win," Siemian said. "The offensive line played well enough to win. Just the mistakes — you hate beating yourself. For me, that's the frustrating part."

When looking at his night, Siemian couldn't help but focus on his three interceptions, which proved costly, particularly when paired with the team's two other giveaways.

"[I had] a couple bad decisions," Siemian said. "[It's] tough to win, tough to beat good teams when you turn it over."

Reflecting on those turnovers, Siemian admitted he felt he was pressing at times as he tried to spark the offense to cut into the Chiefs' lead.

On the first, with the Broncos chasing and early 14-point deficit, Siemian tried to bait cornerback Marcus Peters into misplaying a pass deep down the right sideline to Jeff Heuerman. But Peters came up with the interception.

A quarter later, still down 14, Siemian tried to find Jordan Taylor for a 50-yard pickup, but safety Ron Parker pulled down the pass instead.

And on the final interception, with the Broncos down 26-13 in the fourth quarter, Siemian scrambled and tried to find Demaryius Thomas over the middle. The pass floated on him, and cornerback Kenneth Acker snagged it.

"We had plenty of time," Siemian said. "I was just trying to get something going. We had plenty of time. I didn't need to be making stupid throws like that."

Yet, what Siemian and others found heartening about the team's performance was that even in spite of such costly errors, the Broncos were still very much in the game.

As discouraging as the loss was, they could still look at it and see they're still a team good enough to go toe-to-toe with one of the league's top teams. "Kind of scary, right?" Siemian said. "When you turn it over four times and you're still in the game with a team like Kansas City. That's kind of unbelievable, really. We know we have the ability to be pretty good. It's just tough when you're playing two teams. You can't play the Denver Broncos and you can't play another team. Too many mistakes by me."
