Seven Players Added to Practice Squad

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --At 10 a.m. MDT this morning, the team was allowed to begin building a practice squad of up to eight players.

The Broncos have already added seven to that group.

Among them are 2013 draft picks Tavarres King and Vinston Painter, preseason standout wide receiver Gerell Robinson and a newcomer to the team in former San Diego running back Edwin Baker.

The full list is below:

RB Edwin Baker: Baker finished the preseason with 57 rushing yards on 11 attempts, fourth-best on the Chargers' roster. His 5.2 yard rushing average in the preseason topped all Chargers rushers. Selected by the Chargers in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Baker spent the final two weeks of the season on the active roster. He rushed for 2,293 yards on 462 carries in his collegiate career at Michigan State.

T Paul Cornick: Cornick spent last season between the Broncos' and Jets' practice squad. He earned All-America honors following his senior season at North Dakota State.

G Ben Garland: Garland, from the Air Force Academy, has experience on both the offensive and defensive lines and picked up five tackles as a defensive lineman this preseason. The Colorado native spent the 2012 season on the Broncos' practice squad. In the 2012 preseason, he registered three tackles and a sack.

WR Tavarres King: King was a fifth-round selection (161st overall) by the Broncos in this year's NFL draft. He caught five passes for 64 yards in the preseason. The former Georgia Bulldog played a school-record 56 games in college and finished his tenure ranked third all-time in receiving touchdowns (21) and fourth in receiving yards (2,602).

T Vinston Painter: Painter, a rookie out of Virginia Tech, was selected in the sixth round by the Broncos. The 6-foot-4 offensive tackle was originally recruited by the Hokies to play defense but made the switch to offense and became a 13-game starter for the first time as a senior.

WR Gerell Robinson: Robinson competed in the Broncos' training camp for the second straight year after spending the 2012 season on Arizona's practice squad. He posted a game-high five catches for 99 yards and one touchdown in Denver's preseason finale against the Cardinals.

DE John Youboty:Youboty, who originally signed with the Broncos as a college free agent in April, totaled three tackles and one pass defensed for Denver in the preseason. The 6-foot-4, 258 pound defensive end from Temple earned second-team All-Big East Conference honors in 2012 after finishing with a team-high five sacks in addition to 42 tackles (28 solo), one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
