ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –With the NFL season more than halfway over and the Pro-Bowl voting open, Pro Football Focus has assembled a cheat sheet of sorts for voters – offering their take on who the starters and the backups should be in this season's Pro Bowl.
This is the first season that the Pro Bowl will not be a showdown between the all-stars from the AFC and the NFC. Instead, players will be voted in and then drafted to teams in a fantasy style draft. The top-two vote getters on offense and defense will be the captains charged with picking the teams.
PFF listed six Broncos – two as starters – on their cheat sheet.
Quarterback Peyton Manning was listed as starter in the Pro Bowl alongside fellow AFC West quarterback Philip Rivers – a quarterback matchup not previously possible because of the format. PFF described the two passers as "unnervingly accurate all year long."
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas made the list as a backup as did center Manny Ramirez. The only other Bronco on the list as a starter was guard Louis Vasquez. PFF credits Ramirez and Vasquez – who both made PFF’s Midseason All-AFC Team – with strong efforts in run blocking.
On defense, both cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Chris Harris Jr. were listed also as backups.
