ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –With September now complete, Pro Football Focus has put together its team of the month -- and four Broncos made the cut.
Joining Manning on the offensive side of the ball on PFF's Team of the Month is guard Louis Vasquez. Vasquez is in his first year with the Broncos and "has been nearly flawless in pass protection," according to the site. It goes on to say that he has also been an "excellent contributor" as a blocker for the running game.
While there were no Broncos selected to the defensive Team of the Month, they dominated the special teams portion. Two of the four specialists selected were Broncos – David Bruton and Trindon Holliday.
Bruton blocked a punt in the season opener against the Ravens and "has made big plays to go with consistency on coverage and return units" including a key block that sprang Holliday for a touchdown against the Eagles.
Holliday is the only player in the NFL with two returns for touchdowns this season and tied his own Broncos record for longest touchdown return with a 105-yard kickoff return against the Eagles.
"I've been impressed with him," Fox said Monday of Holliday. "He returned two kicks in a playoff game, which has never been done before. He's got a chance to be special. He's worked very hard; he's fielding the ball way more consistently. I think his speed, quickness and acceleration is pretty well documented."
