Peyton Manning delivers his monologue at the 25th ESPYS

Former Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was back in the spotlight Wednesday as he took the stage at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles as the host of the 2017 ESPY Awards.

His opening monologue captured the personality that so many fans of the Broncos and the NFL came to appreciate during his 18-year playing career.

Manning was also featured in a skit that had fun with his antics in retirement.

In 2016, Manning was one of three recipients of the ESPY's Icon Award.

He also won ESPYs for best record-breaking performance (2005, 2014, 2015), best NFL player (2004, 2005, 2014), best championship performance (2007) and best college football player (1998). He was also nominated for awards on 10 other occasions.
