ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos' busy Wednesday continued when the team agreed to terms on a two-year deal with defensive tackle Terrance Knighton.

Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio has plenty of familiarity with Knighton — a third-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009, when Del Rio was head coach.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway tweeted that Knighton is a "great athlete for his size who had a lot of success under Jack Del Rio in (Jacksonville)."

Knighton started all 16 games in each of his first two seasons and started 13 games in 2011. The three games he missed that season were the only three he has missed due to injury in his career.

Last season, the defensive tackle played in all 16 games but started just five. Still, he ranked second on the team with 17 quarterback pressures and tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles.

The 26-year-old has racked up 259 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, nine passes defensed and an interception in his four NFL seasons.

He's the second defensive tackle to sign with the team this offseason, joining Kevin Vickerson, who re-signed with the club Tuesday.
