ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Starting guard Ron Leary should return to practice Tuesday after missing Saturday's game and Monday's practice, Head Coach Vance Joseph said.
"He'll be back tomorrow for sure," Joseph said. "He's gotten better, but again, we're just being really smart with the guys that we know can play. For the long haul, I think for the guys it's [OK] to sit out a little bit."
Safety Su'a Cravens should also return to practice soon, Joseph said.
Cravens has missed most of training camp with knee soreness.
"He should be back on the field hopefully this week," Joseph said. "Again, we're being smart with our guys. He was really sore last week. He got better and he got sore again. We just want to be smart for the long haul."
Tight end Jeff Heuerman, who had also been out with knee soreness, returned to practice Monday after missing the better part of two weeks with the injury.
"I honestly felt really good out there today," Heuerman said. "It was kind of my first time back, first time [receiving] some live reps and stuff. I've been running and conditioning, catching some balls and stuff. But today was the first day back and it felt really good just being back out there with the guys and in training camp and just the whole vibe of everything. It's awesome just to be back."
He was guarded on at least one play by cornerback Tramaine Brock, who has battled a hamstring injury during training camp and did not play Saturday vs. Minnesota.
Several Broncos left the field during practice Monday.
Defensive lineman Paul Boyette Jr., guard J.J. Dielman and wide receiver Jordan Leslie all went into the locker room, but Leslie would later return.
Joseph was only asked about Dielman and said he did not yet know his status.
