Take a look back at some of the highlights of the community work of Justin Simmons, the Broncos' 2019 and 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee.
DENVER — After taking a large step in his football career, Justin Simmons is taking the next step in his work as a leader in the Denver community.
On Tuesday, Simmons announced that he and his wife, Taryn, have established a charitable foundation in his name to provide support for youth development, hunger relief, education and more.
"I have been blessed with the opportunity and platform to make a positive impact in the lives of children," Simmons said in a statement. "I want to use my voice to motivate others and truly help those in need."
Since Simmons arrived in Denver in 2016 as a third-round draft pick, he has consistently shown his commitment to the community. He has been a near-constant presence at team campaigns, including PLAY 60 events, youth football games, hospital patient outreach and more. Simmons won Community Ambassador Awards in 2017 and 2018 and was the team's Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee in 2019.
