ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --Linebacker Brandon Marshall and tight end Julius Thomas were on the practice field Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's practice, offering a sign of progress as the Broncos hope to have them available for Sunday's game at Kansas City.

Marshall is in the league's post-concussion protocol, and has not been cleared for physical contact, so he was listed under "did not practice" on the Thursday injury report, but he was cleared for conditioning and non-contact activity.

Thomas worked with the tight ends as practice began as the Broncos work carefully with him following the sprained ankle he suffered in the first quarter at St. Louis last week.

Head Coach John Fox declined to speculate on the potential availability of Marshall or Thomas for Sunday's game at Kansas City.

"We're just day-to-day. I don't like trying to predict the future," Fox said. "We'll take it one day at a time and see where they are [Friday]."

Cornerback Aqib Talib was off to the side with team strength and conditioning coaches as he works his way back from a hamstring strain suffered int he first quarter Sunday.

Fellow cornerback Kayvon Webster, who injured his shoulder Sunday, did not practice. Running backs Ronnie Hillman (foot sprain) and Montee Ball (groin) also remained sidelined; neither has practiced since their injuries on Nov. 9 and 16, respectively.
