ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Four days after Head Coach Vic Fangio said Drew Lock was "50-50" for Sunday's game against New England, the second-year quarterback did not practice Tuesday as the Broncos returned to the practice field.
Lock observed during the media-viewing portion of practice but was not wearing a jersey and did not have his helmet.
The Broncos will release their first official participation report of the week following Wednesday's practice.
Wide receiver KJ Hamler (hamstring), safety P.J. Locke, tight end Noah Fant (ankle), outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu (quad) and defensive lineman Mike Purcell also did not participate in practice. Both Hamler and Fant left during Thursday's game against the Jets, while Attaochu did not play.
Hamler, Attaochu and Purcell worked on a side field with trainers during the media-viewing portion of practice. Purcell said after Tuesday's practice that he would be ready to play Sunday.
Several players on injured reserve also rehabbed on the side field. Cornerback A.J. Bouye, linebacker Austin Calitro, defensive end DeMarcus Walker and defensive end Dre'Mont Jones worked with trainers during the media-viewing portion of Tuesday's practice. Bouye is eligible to return to the active roster for Sunday's game, but Fangio said Friday that Bouye had less than a 50-50 chance of being ready to play.
Running back Phillip Linsday took part in the team's stretching period and individual work after missing the Broncos' last three games. Fangio said Friday that Lindsay should be able to play in Week 5.
