ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — One of the Broncos' key defensive players has returned to practice.

Cornerback Pat Surtain II (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice after missing Denver's Week 7 game. Surtain left the Broncos' Week 6 game against the Chargers after suffering a concussion during the first defensive possession, and he was ruled out for Week 7 vs. the Saints.

Head Coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that it "looks positive" for Surtain to play Sunday against the Panthers.

Tackles Mike McGlinchey (knee) and Alex Palczewski (ankle) and safety P.J. Locke (thumb) were limited participants on Wednesday.

McGlinchey was activated from injured reserve for Denver's Week 7 win over the Saints.

Palczewski, who was estimated as a limited participant on Monday and Tuesday last week, was ruled out ahead of the Week 7 matchup. Palczewski missed Denver's previous two games after suffering an ankle injury in Week 5.

Defensive tackle Malcolm Roach did not practice Wednesday with an illness.

"He's got a bug," Payton said. "It's [an] illness. … He's got a fever."

The Broncos will announce another practice report on Thursday before releasing game statuses on Friday.

Denver is set to kick off against the Carolina Panthers at 2:25 p.m. MT on Sunday.
