ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Cornerback Pat Surtain II was among six Broncos starters who did not practice on Wednesday as the team began its preparations for the Eagles.

Surtain (knee), tackles Garett Bolles (ankle) and Bobby Massie (ankle), wide receiver Tim Patrick (knee), outside linebacker Malik Reed (hip) and defensive end Shelby Harris (illness, not COVID-related) were among those who did not practice.

Surtain participated in the team's stretching period on Wednesday but did not have a helmet.

Head Coach Vic Fangio said there's a "below 50-50" chance that Bolles will play on Sunday, but he said Harris would return on Thursday.

If Bolles and Massie cannot play, Calvin Anderson and Cam Fleming would likely be Denver's starters, and Quinn Bailey could serve as a reserve option.

"Quinn's a versatile guy," Fangio said. "He can play guard or tackle. [Offensive Line Coach] Mike [Munchak]'s liked him from the start, thinks he can develop into a good player, and there's a chance he'll be up this week."

Safety Caden Sterns (shoulder), tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (knee) and defensive lineman McTelvin Agim also did not practice.

Surtain, Massie, Patrick, Sterns, Okwuegbunam and Agim were all injured during Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Patrick and Okwuegbunam did return to game action.

Wide receiver Kendall Hinton (shoulder) and guard Dalton Risner (foot) were limited on Wednesday, while nose tackle Mike Purcell (thumb) was a full participant.

Tight end Noah Fant and guard Netane Muti were also at practice after being activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
