ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is being evaluated for an Achilles injury he suffered in Wednesday's practice, Head Coach Vance Joseph announced.
"He's having an MRI in the next hour, so we'll know more [soon]," Joseph said. "It didn't look good."
Sanders was running a route against air during the media-viewing portion of practice when he went down.
Joseph said the injury was unrelated to a heel injury Sanders dealt with last week.
"He felt great today," Joseph said. "I can't speak to [a relation to a previous injury]."
Joseph said he, President of Football Operations/GM John Elway and Director of Player Personnel Matt Russell will meet to determine the team's course of action if Sanders is lost for the year.
"It just happened an hour and 15 minutes ago," Joseph said. "We have to go through the wire and see what's out there. We have capable guys here in the building already on our [practice] squad, so we'll see what's best for our football team."
Sanders was officially listed as limited Wednesday, as was linebacker Brandon Marshall (knee).
Outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett (hip), cornerback Tramaine Brock (ribs), cornerback Chris Harris Jr. (leg) and defensive end Derek Wolfe (rib) all did not practice.
Josey Jewell and Courtland Sutton were both full participants in practice.
