ENGLEWOOD, Colo. –Though his status on the injury report remains unchanged, cornerback Champ Bailey feels like he's making progress
"I feel pretty good," Bailey said Thursday after having limited participation in practice. "Better than I did at this time last week."
Bailey added that whether or not he would play Sunday against the Cowboys was still "up in the air," but that he is getting better and more confident.
The pain in his foot is becoming less constant but with the nature of his position and the necessity of sudden changes of direction, it's hard to tell when something is going to cause his foot to hurt.
"It's just spots here and there," Bailey said of the pain. "One thing about corner, you can't predict where you're going. When I'm (making) half-surprised moves, those things catch me off guard sometimes. That's diminishing as we go along, though."
Bailey said that it's frustrating to have watch from the sidelines and even though he likes to consider himself patient he said he's "a little impatient when it comes to playing football."
For right now, he's still on the road to recovery.
"Champ is still working his way back," Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio said. "He remains a decision that (Head) Coach (John) Fox makes. We continue to work him where we can."
When Bailey is healthy and linebacker Von Miller is available again, the club will be looking to make what has already been an effective defense even stronger.
"We just want to help pick it up a little more," Bailey said. "Our defense is doing really well right now. I know once I'm out there, once he's out there, hopefully we can pick it up even more."
