ENGLEWOOD, Colo.** – After tallying his seventh pick-six in as many years, cornerback Aqib Talib was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, Wednesday morning.

The award represents the third conference recognition of his career and his second since joining the Broncos last season (Wk. 14, 2014). He also received the award in 2010 as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 8).

Talib totaled three tackles (2 solo), two passes defensed and one interception returned 51 yards for a score in Denver's 19-13 win against Baltimore in which the team won for just the ninth time when not scoring an offensive touchdown.

With the Broncos trailing the Ravens 13-9 nearing the end of the third quarter, Talib turned the four-point deficit into a lead Denver would not relinquish when he intercepted Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco and returned it 51 yards for his seventh career "pick-six."

This marks the 28th time a Broncos player has taken home AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors since it was initiated by the NFL in 1984.
