Russ Trainor is in his 14th year with the Denver Broncos in 2022 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Information Technology. He was originally hired by the club in 2008.

In his role, Trainor is tasked with leading a department that oversees all IT systems at UCHealth Training Center and Empower Field at Mile High. This includes network, storage and server architectures, communications systems, all desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones, and all cloud-based storage and server architectures. Trainor also oversees the IT Cyber Security tools and systems that help protect the organization's network(s).

An IT professional for 32+ years, Trainor has over 20 years of NFL experience. Prior to the Broncos, he spent seven years with the Atlanta Falcons, serving as technical services manager from 2001-08.

Preceding his time with the Falcons, Trainor worked as senior network engineer for Home Depot (1995-2001), a network and sever support engineer for Atlanta Gas Light (1992-95), and a customer service representative and PC support technician for Equifax (1990-92). He began his professional career performing the role of Electronics Warfare supervisor while in the US Coast Guard from 1985-90.

A 2000 graduate of Kennesaw (Ga.) State University, Trainor earned a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems with a minor in education. While at Kennesaw State, Trainor was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, which is an Atlanta, Georgia-based non-profit organization that recognizes academic achievement among college and university students.

An avid outdoorsman, Trainor and his wife, Kelly, have two children, Jordy and Darby.
