Rob Walton is in his third season as an owner of the Denver Broncos in 2024 as part of the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group.

A business leader and conservationist, Walton served as Walmart's chairman of the board of directors from 1992-2015 and has been an active advocate for global sustainability and environmental conservation. He joined Walmart in 1969, and prior to becoming chairman, he held a variety of positions with the company, including senior vice president, corporate secretary, general counsel and vice chairman.

He joined Walmart in 1969, and prior to becoming chairman, he held a variety of positions with the company, including senior vice president, corporate secretary, general counsel and vice chairman.

Helping take Walmart public in 1970, Walton's leadership and business acumen spurred the company's historic success during his tenure. While he was chairman of the board, Walmart grew to the top of the Forbes 500 ranking of America's largest companies and became a global company.

His passion for environmental conservation began at Walmart when, as board chair, he collaborated with the company's management to make sustainability a significant corporate initiative and priority. He led a collaboration between Conservation International and Walmart to increase the use of renewable energy, minimize waste and sell sustainable products in Walmart stores.

Walton also continues to support important conservation projects through his personal philanthropy. He is a decades-long supporter of African Parks, an organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and long-term management of protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities.

Walton serves on the board of directors of Conservation International, is an Emeritus Trustee of the African Parks Foundation and is co-chairman of the Arizona State University Global Institute of Sustainability. He also is a member of the Mayo Clinic Arizona Leadership Council and an emeritus life trustee of The College of Wooster.

He previously served on the Walton Family Foundation Board and as Chair of the Environment Committee.

Before joining Walmart, Walton was a partner with the law firm of Conner & Winters in Tulsa, Okla. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and the Columbia University School of Law.

A sports enthusiast and outdoorsman, Walton enjoys spending time at his Colorado home and making the most of the state's scenic beauty. He is an avid cyclist and has completed the Leadville 100, a hundred-mile race across the Colorado Rockies; Cape Epic, a grueling multi-stage international race; and multiple Ironman Championships.

Walton also is a licensed pilot who enjoys competitive driving and collecting vintage cars.
