Logan Kilgore enters his second season as an offensive quality control coach for the Denver Broncos in 2024. He was hired by the club on March 25, 2024.
In his first season with the team in 2023, Kilgore was part of a staff that helped the Broncos to their best record since 2016, finishing the campaign with an 8-9 record. Kilgore also helped oversee a tight end room that included tight end Adam Trautman, who set a new career high with three touchdown receptions while also recording 204 yards on 22 receptions (9.3 avg.).
Kiglore also assisted with the kick returners in 2023, helping KR Marvin Mims Jr. to Associated Press second-team All-Pro and a 2024 Pro Bowl accolades after averaging 16.4 yards per punt return and 26.5 yards per kickoff return. The Broncos ranked first in the NFL in punt return average (16.3) and eighth in kickoff return average (24.9) that season.
Prior to the Broncos, Kilgore returned to Arkansas State University, where he was set to perform the role of tight ends coach under Head Coach Butch Jones. He was with the program from Dec. 2022 to Feb. 2023.
Kilgore, who has three previous seasons of coaching experience, spent the 2022 campaign as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Isidore Newman (La.) High School. He was a part of a coaching staff that helped the team produce an 8-3 regular-season record and a first-round playoff victory.
At Newman, he designed an offense for Arch Manning—nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning and two-time Super Bowl-winning QB Eli Manning—and helped him complete 204-of-316 passes (64.6%) for 2,509 yards with 34 touchdowns and two interceptions. Manning was named the 2022 Bobby Dodd National Back of the Year Award presented by Touchdown Club of Atlanta.
Prior to Newman, Kilgore spent a year as an offensive analyst for Arkansas State (2021) after wrapping up a six-year professional career in the NFL and CFL. He helped the Red Wolves rank 11th in the country in passing offense (313.9 ypg) that season.
Kilgore also spent one year working as quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator for Bakersfield College in 2018. The offense averaged 30.4 points per game while tallying 300.4 yards of total offense.
Originally signed by New Orleans as a college free agent in 2014, Kilgore competed with the team during offseason workouts and training camp before signing with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He went on appear in 43 games in the CFL (2014, '16-17, '19), completing 177-of-288 passes for 1,927 yards with eight touchdowns.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State, Kilgore played four collegiate seasons (2010-13) for the program. He became the first Blue Raider to accumulate three 2,000-plus yard passing seasons and finished his career with 7,849 passing yards and 53 touchdowns.
Prior to Middle Tennessee, Kilgore spent the 2009 season at Bakersfield College, where he passed for 2,512 yards and 22 scores. He led the team to a 10-2 record and was named the Northern Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
A native of Rocklin, Calif., Kilgore earned both his bachelor's and master's degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Logan Kilgore and his wife, Brookey, have one daughter, Cooper.
